I agree with the ideals you chose! Having a safe environment for children to learn and grow is a top priority for me as well. I also agree with ensuring students receive the support and services they need. I really enjoyed reading why you chose each ideal.
I like the three ideals that you have chosen for your blog. It’s important to provide a safe environment for the children as well as build a positive relationship with the children and their families. Being respectful and teaming with coworkers is definitely needed to provide quality care for the children. I agree with professionals needing to feel appreciated and encouraged. “Burn out” can happen in any professional and to be effective for the children you need to maintain your overall health (mentally, physically and etc). I wish you the best in being able to implement inclusion for all the children you serve.
The three ideals you chose are so wonderful and I enjoyed reading your explanations as to why they stood out to you. I agree with your statement that we need to have inclusive classrooms. As a teacher in which over 25% of my class have a speech or behavioral difference, having an inclusive class has been a big priority for me. It's still a work in progress, but it is so rewarding when you see all of your students playing and interacting harmoniously. Thank you for sharing your insight and adding more depth to these ideals and principles.
Building relationships with our students is so vital, that is the first step to showing them that they can trust us and that school is a safe environment. Students need to have those relationships, and feel safe so that they can learn. I'm also support inclusive classrooms, I currently work in an inclusive pre-k room and have seen first hand what a difference it makes! Collaborating with colleagues is also so important. In order for my preschool classrooms to run effectively there is constant collaboration between myself, the teacher, both para's, speech, and OT. Without that collaboration, our students wouldn't be receiving a quality education or the services they need to learn.

ReplyDeleteI think we feel the same about having children feel safe in their learning environment as well as inclusion should be for every single child.
